Collect your hire campervan in Sydney and then head south to the Royal National Park (world’s second oldest). From there, the Drive takes you to Wollongong and onto Shellharbour, Kiama and the Shoalhaven. The route traverses through dramatic coastal scenery, quaint villages, over the iconic Sea Cliff Bridge and through the bustling city of Wollongong.
From Wollongong, you can continue along the coastal road to Kiama, Nowra and Ulladulla. A popular seaside holiday spot is Bateman's Bay, another 52 kilometres from Ulladulla. This area is known as the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. From Bateman's Bay, drive inland 151 kilometres to Canberra, Australia's national capital.
Canberra is a place to explore wide open spaces, reconnect with natural surrounds and discover some of Australia's best attractions. Canberra allows you to explore Australia's unique political history and wartime activities. It is worthwhile to spend 1 or 2 days in Canberra before returning to Sydney.
